Fatty Wang's Hor Fun

Hi Guys,

Jon here. Just contributing my 2cents worth of thought for the foodies.

Hor Fun (they wrap it up traditionally in Ophir Leaf)
$5 per packet.
Stall Location: Fatty Wang - Geylang area besides the old badminton association now currently transformed into a 24/7 prawning area.

The restaurant looks like one of thos run down mid 80's street side restaurants. The have Cze Char as well, but I am a big fan of their Hor Fun. I know its a little expensive, at $5, but it is the only Hor Fun that kinda adda an extra kick for me. They include Liver and Gizzard and their choice of ingridients span more towards variety..

Check it out and let me know your views.

$2 Nasi Lemak

Photo 1:
The time reads 11.30am. Check out the long queue. (blame the poor
quality on my 3GS) The stall usually opens around this time and closes
when sold out. That's usually about 2pm.

Photo 2:
I'm waiting behind this auntie in blue.

Photo 3:
This is the stall's signboard. Not bad closed up view for a 3GS.

Photo 4:
Look at the stall with the same signboard on the left. It's their
kitchen! They're using it just for cooking.

Photo 5:
And finally, the real deal. Any three dishes for $2. Including chicken
wing or otah. If you're a big fan of kuning fish, then you have to be
there early. For chili lovers, this is good.

The portion is gone within 3 mins. Therefore, it's definitely not
enough for big eaters (Colin & Elvin, you gotta order two sets).

And here are the details:
1) Nasi Lemak
2) Hon Ni Kitchen
3) Blk 216 Bedok North Street 1 (Hawker Centre)
4) Super cheap @ $2
5) Not fixed but usually from 11.30am to 2pm weekdays (not sure about
weekends)
6) No contact number
7) Usually it takes more than $2 to change your life.

Colin, this is the same hawker centre you used to go for the wanton
mee during kindergarden days.

I'm enjoying as much nice food in the east as possible now cos I'll be
moving to the north in less than two months time. Will definitely
share more with everyone.

Enjoy.

Food Categories

This is the list I compiled which I will bring my foreign visitors to try when they are in SG, these should broadly cover all the SOP dishes in Sg. Anything else that I missed out?

You can ignore the remarks beside some of the food names as they may be outdated. Some are quite notes which I took down from taxi drivers.

The Format (for Life-changing makan places)

Colin & Elvin have started off with our very own life-changing blog. I'm testing the posting feature now (thanks to Colin), and decided to post the 'standard' format. Let's do our best to keep it to the following:

1) Name/type of food (eg, Crab Bee Hoon Soup & Chili Crabs)
2) Stall name (eg, Melben Seafood)
3) Location (eg, Blk 232 AMK Ave 3)
4) Price (eg, super cheap / cheap / average / exp / super exp)
5) Operating hours (eg, 4.30pm - 10.30pm daily)
6) Contact number (eg, 6285-6762)
7) Life-changing scale (my life changed for the worst! / my life is still as per normal / it definitely changed my life!)

Vurger

for e foodies!

anyone tried Vurger ?

Address: Blk 74 Whampoa Drive #01-310 Singapore

11am to 9pm

Closed on Thursdays.

'tried their chicken burger 2dae. it has over-sized chicken cutlet
patty bursting out of its buns - only cost $2.90. add $1 for fries n
coleslaw - optional.

am sure the price will go up pretty soon - surely its underpriced
compared to astons and botak jones.

enjoy munching!

Salad bar

Sizzler lunch menu

Just learned that sizzler has a lunch menu that is much cheaper than the main menu!

Just the salad bar alone is really impressive!
